Grey clouds are becoming a staple of the Boston skyline as it looks like we’re getting yet another snow storm this week. It makes for a nice excuse to stay inside and write music all day, but it’s not too friendly for our now weekly trips to Vermont…yet we’re doing it again.
First of all, a big thanks to everyone who braved the cold in Burlington on Saturday. It dropped below 0 that night, and we still had a packed house at Red Square. Alex forgot his boots there and surprisingly still has most of his toes. We’re also excited to announce our triumphant return to Nectar’s on Mardi Gras weekend, March 5th to be exact. We’ve heard that Burlington goes big for Fat Tuesday, so we’re going to see if it lives up to the hype. Stay tuned…
As for this weekend, we’re heading back to Vermont to play Tuckernuck Shoals this Saturday, January 29th in Ludlow, right down the street from Okemo Mountain Resort. We’re playing all night, so hopefully we’ll see you there. If you have extra boots, Alex will love you forever.
Vermont seems to be our new home these days. We’re on the way up for our 3rd straight weekend in January, with one more to go. Check the Shows page or our Facebook to know where to find the party.
We’re getting pumped for our show tonight at the Lizard Lounge. The snow’s off the road, and you probably didn’t have to work yesterday, so come on out and kick off the weekend early. Tickets are available at the door.
Also, we make our triumphant return to The Fat Spy this Sunday in Vermont. Last weekend we played there out of pure dumb luck: we needed a place to stay, they needed a band. We ended up playing until close, cracking open a bottle of Bourbon, and playing poker with the owner almost until breakfast the next morning. Now we’re coming back a week later for the holiday weekend, and we’re doing the Sgt. Pepper’s Set. Love it.
We’re happy to announce another rave review of our album as well. Performer Magazine calls A King’s Ransom “a very strong full-length debut from a hard working group”. We’ll take it. Big thanks to the folks over at Performer, and you can read the full article here.
Stay tuned for more shows coming up, a chance to win some cool stuff, and more love from Stockholm.
We had a blast playing in Burlington yet again. Every time we play there it reaffirms itself as our home away from home. We opened for the kick-ass Funk Fusion band Kung Fu, so if you haven’t checked them out yet, do it! We also want to give a special shout out to the Nectar’s staff for going above and beyond. We’ll be back in Vermont soon, so stay tuned.
This week we’ve also got a huge concert this Saturday with former Vermonters Avi & Celia in their most recent incarnation Hey Mama. They’re playing their last show in Boston at the Middle East Downstairs, so make sure you RSVP and show some love. You can also click here to buy tickets.
See you there!
