New Year’s Tour/Lizard Lounge Residency

New Year’s Tour

Just in time for the apocalypse, Love in Stockholm is doing a crazy, ill-advised tour of upstate New York and the midwest for New Year’s Eve, the drunk person holiday of the year. It’s going to be a ton of fun, so make sure you check it out…the dates are on the right. Also be sure to check out our Facebook page for updates from the road and follow us on Twitter with #lisontour.

Lizard Lounge Residency

For those of you in the beautiful land of the Greater Boston Area, we might not be home for the holidays, but we’ll be back soon.

We’re playing every Thursday in February at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, and each night is going to be a little different. We had an awesome surprise show there in early December where we showcased a bunch of new material, and there will be more surprises in store…Stay tuned for more info on opening acts, tickets, and all related nonsense atloveinstockholm.com.

Gillette Stadium Welcomed LiS…

for the pre-game show! That’s right, we just played at Patriot Place before the New England Patriots took on the Miami Dolphins this Christmas Eve. Our set was kind of like the game…the first half was a little shaky but we finished strong. Actually the whole set was awesome and we had a blast.

Happy Holidays to everyone and may you all have a prosperous New Year. We’ll see you soon…

Love,

We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who came out to our big Halloween blowout on 10/29 at the Middle East, and everyone who made requests on Facebook and Twitter…you guys made it such an amazing night. Halloween Bash…and YOU pick the setlist.

Posted on by Love in Stockholm in Blog | 1 Comment

By far LiS’ favorite holiday, we are happy to announce our Third Annual Halloween party, which will be at the Middle East Downstairs this year. Last year we played The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover to cover, but this year we’re doing it a little differently…

Love in Stockholm will be performing as the year 1996, with all the music, fashion, Clinton jokes, and random pop culture references we can fit into an hour and a half. It’s going to be a blast, and we’re playing with three great Boston bands Biscuits and Gravy, Insigniya, and Cosmodrome. Tickets are going to go fast, so be sure to pick some up in advance.

October 28th
Middle East Downstairs
Doors at 8:00 PM
presented by Hear Now Live
Tickets. FB Event.

But what songs are we going to play???

You pick the tunes!

With so many epic songs to pick from, we want to put the setlist into your hands, mostly so we don’t have to decide what to play… Hop on Twitter and tag @loveinstockholm in a tweet with #partylikeits1996 and let us know your favorite songs, random celebrities, stupid pop-culture references, and anything else you think is relevant from the year 1996, and we’ll pick the best ones and play them at the show. After Halloween we’ll post the setlist online, and send the winners a FREE download of an unreleased forthcoming Love in Stockholm track. This means even if you can’t make it to the show, we can still get along like peas and carrots…

New Shows Announced!

When the temperature goes from 40 to 95 and you put away the space heater and dig out the A/C it can only mean one thing: summer’s back in Boston. We’re gearing up for our busiest summer ever, and we’re happy to announce two shows with our favorite funk band from the rotten apple: Turkuaz.

These are going to be insane shows, and they’re coming at the end of our multi-city tour to the heart of America and back, so we’ll be happy to see some familiar faces on this side of the country.

Brand new videos posted, and the gang returns to Johnny D’s in Somerville

Here’s to Going Dutch

It’s been a few  weeks, but LiS have been busy. We’ve been to Montauk to see if the Stones were right about the Memory Motel, we bought a pony trailer, got lost in Home Depot, and narrowly escaped a cougar attack.

We are also happy to announce that the first episode of Live From the Dutch, featuring Love in Stockholm launched last week, courtesy of Thrift Store Sneakers. It features an interview with Charlie and intimate unplugged performances of some of our tunes. It also features the brand new song “Drugstore”, so be sure to check it out. Those of you who follow us on Twitter or Facebook have known about this for days. Literally, days.

Johnny D’s and Campfires

It’s been over a month since we performed in the Boston area, and we’re really excited for our show this Friday at Johnny D’s Uptown in Davis Square. We’re playing with our friends Melodeego, and it’s going to be a great night of good time music. We’re also planning a special tribute in honor of Bob Dylan‘s 70th Birthday, so you don’t want to miss it. Be sure to RSVP.

We’re also making our Wormtown debut this weekend at the Strange Creek Campout in Deerfield, MA. We’re playing on Sunday morning in the woods, so we’re either staying up all night or playing in our PJs. We’ll be hanging out on Saturday night too, complete with acoustic guitars and bloodshot eyes, so we hope to see you there. For tickets email Derek at derek@wormtown.com. Oh yeah, and look for the candy canes…

Love,
in Stockholm
