By far LiS’ favorite holiday, we are happy to announce our Third Annual Halloween party, which will be at the Middle East Downstairs this year. Last year we played The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover to cover, but this year we’re doing it a little differently…
Love in Stockholm will be performing as the year 1996, with all the music, fashion, Clinton jokes, and random pop culture references we can fit into an hour and a half. It’s going to be a blast, and we’re playing with three great Boston bands Biscuits and Gravy, Insigniya, and Cosmodrome. Tickets are going to go fast, so be sure to pick some up in advance.

But what songs are we going to play???
You pick the tunes!
With so many epic songs to pick from, we want to put the setlist into your hands, mostly so we don’t have to decide what to play… Hop on Twitter and tag @loveinstockholm in a tweet with #partylikeits1996 and let us know your favorite songs, random celebrities, stupid pop-culture references, and anything else you think is relevant from the year 1996, and we’ll pick the best ones and play them at the show. After Halloween we’ll post the setlist online, and send the winners a FREE download of an unreleased forthcoming Love in Stockholm track. This means even if you can’t make it to the show, we can still get along like peas and carrots…
When the temperature goes from 40 to 95 and you put away the space heater and dig out the A/C it can only mean one thing: summer’s back in Boston. We’re gearing up for our busiest summer ever, and we’re happy to announce two shows with our favorite funk band from the rotten apple: Turkuaz.
These are going to be insane shows, and they’re coming at the end of our multi-city tour to the heart of America and back, so we’ll be happy to see some familiar faces on this side of the country.
Doors open at 9:00 pm.

We’re performing with some of Boston and New York’s finest. It’s going to be hot. Dress accordingly.
Here’s to Going Dutch
It’s been a few weeks, but LiS have been busy. We’ve been to Montauk to see if the Stones were right about the Memory Motel, we bought a pony trailer, got lost in Home Depot, and narrowly escaped a cougar attack.
We are also happy to announce that the first episode of Live From the Dutch, featuring Love in Stockholm launched last week, courtesy of Thrift Store Sneakers. It features an interview with Charlie and intimate unplugged performances of some of our tunes. It also features the brand new song “Drugstore”, so be sure to check it out. Those of you who follow us on Twitter or Facebook have known about this for days. Literally, days.
Johnny D’s and Campfires
It’s been over a month since we performed in the Boston area, and we’re really excited for our show this Friday at Johnny D’s Uptown in Davis Square. We’re playing with our friends Melodeego, and it’s going to be a great night of good time music. We’re also planning a special tribute in honor of Bob Dylan‘s 70th Birthday, so you don’t want to miss it. Be sure to RSVP.
We’re also making our Wormtown debut this weekend at the Strange Creek Campout in Deerfield, MA. We’re playing on Sunday morning in the woods, so we’re either staying up all night or playing in our PJs. We’ll be hanging out on Saturday night too, complete with acoustic guitars and bloodshot eyes, so we hope to see you there. For tickets email Derek at email@example.com. Oh yeah, and look for the candy canes…
Back to Bishop’s
It’s been a couple months since our last visit to sunny Northampton, but we’re coming back this Saturday to rock our favorite third floor bar in town, Bishop’s Lounge. The last two times we’ve played there we’ve ended up in the middle of bachelorette parties, so we’re expecting more of the same. We’ll be playing all night, or at least until the bar closes, so come out and grab yourself a Blackberry Brown.
Empire State of Dave Carroll
We’re coming back to D.C.’s homeland next weekend for our first show at the famed Arlene’s Grocery in Manhattan. We’re playing with the powerfully soulful heylady and Chicago alt-rockers Molehill. Make sure you come out early, we’re playing at 8:30 sharp. The show is on Friday, May 6th, and you can RSVP right here.
The next night we’re heading upstate to Ithaca, NY for our first festival of the season. We’re playing the main stage of People’s Fest III on Saturday night at 9:00 PM, right before fellow massholes The Brew. It’s going to be a good time, and the festival’s going for three days, so make sure to grab some tickets and bring your tent.
New songs, more tour dates, and a chance to win some free LiS crap are all on the horizon. We’ll keep you posted…
LiS returns to Cambridge and sends their CD to the bargain bin
This Friday, April 8th, we make our first trip back to the Middle East Upstairs since Halloween, when we rocked a sold out show with Turkuaz and Hey Mama. We thought about dressing up like zombies and playing a bunch of Turkuaz songs, but we’ll save that for next year. This time we’re going big again, with Northampton dub-stars The Alchemystics and Philadelphia soul singer Nicky Egan. We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve for this one, so make sure you RSVP.
Also, for those of you who don’t have a copy of A King’s Ransom, TODAY ONLY you can get it for a buck. With the help of Microfundo, a local company that helps bands like us get out there, we are giving away our album for free-ninety-nine. That means all you radio heads can name your own price for our newest record if you buy it today. Spread the word, and act fast, because it’ll be tomorrow before you know it. To pick up your copy of the album and to buy tickets for Friday’s show, just go to www.microfundo.com/loveinstockholm.
Festivals and Farmland: summer tour dates announced
Boston’s early days of spring still have the bite of winter, but before we know it, summer will be here again. Instead of sitting there stuck to your couch, check out our tour calendar for a show near you. We’re making our first ever journey to the midwest, playing a bunch of music festivals, and making our first trip back to Block Island since we slept in an unfinished foundation in a stranger’s back yard. A sample of our tour dates can be found to the right. For the complete list, go to www.loveinstockholm.com and there’s more to come, so stay tuned…
